oh rats!

Well, one of them worked retroactively, Now I just have to figure out why it did, but none of the others.

I figured it out! Sort of. It was really hit and miss. But I monkeyed and monkeyed with the posts I made yesterday until I finally got it. There are really many more tries that show up here.

and now........another experiment

one more time

Im' trying to learn about banners and clckable banners and addressing. It is confusing. I'm sure that when I get it figured out, I will not understand why it was so confusing. This is what I have so far....

Fast

A very fast week! One of the Prim-cess sweatshirts I listed on eBay sold. I think I made about a dollar on it. The $ per hour of work is abysmal. The other one didn't sell. I cant decided to relist it or not. The relisting is free if it sells the second time around, but you pay for it if it fails to sell. It's only a 70 cent listing anyway. What do you think? Should I relist it? This is a pic of it.

AntyM's Garden issued a Presidential Challenge. All the Folk-of-Art artist are invited to make something about a president, in honor of President's Day, February 20. I am working on something for the election of 1844, in which James Polk defeated Henry Clay. The plan is that we will list them all on February 4th.

The search term will be FOAF for Folk-of-Art Friends. This link will take you there:
http://search.ebay.com/FOAF
In the meantime, it will show you all the other things this group has listed on eBay right now.

Cool Cool

I gave a batik demonstration to a 4th grade class at Pomeroy School last week. I'd never demonstrated batik before. I was nervous. They were great!
And look what I got today!

Batik Pillows

Original Batik Pillows.
I made the batiks myself. These are on Folk-of-Art through January.
The desings were inspired by the traditional feather design used in quilts for generations.

Making a Hat

I am making a hat, the band is a long fabric tube that needed to be turned right side out. I was standing in the kitchen turning it with a safety pin while the food was cooking. Dave came in and asked:
“What are you making?”
“A hat.”
“No. What are you making?”
“I’m making a hat.”
“Well, it looks like chicken.”
“It looks like fabric! You don’t make chicken out of fabric!”
“What are you making for dinner?”
“Oh......... Chicken.”

Pinewood Derby

Here are the cars my family raced in the Cub Scout Pack 92 Pinewood Derby Saturday. The cars are made from blocks of balsa wood that comes in a kit with the regulation wheels and axels. There are limits on size and weight. They race them indoors on a track with a computerized timer.
The trophies are from the Dad's divison where Dad raced the really funny looking one on the left, and from the Unlimited division where my son in Webelos 1 raced the red truck.
I brought food.

In Progress

This is one of 4 placemats I am working on now. I think I will put them in Folk-of-Art in February.

There are four, each one with different fabrics, each house and each tree a bit different because I didn't measure anything, just cut and sewed. Each placemat, however, is the same size as the others. They are cotton top, back and batt, quilted with rayon top thread in a feather filler.
Watch Folk-of-Art in February!

I made this wall quilt for my friend who is moving into a new place this weekend. I worry a little that its not her taste, but I made it with my own two hands! Its about 14 inches wide and 32 inches long.

I have three new items featured in January on Folk-of-Art. http://folk-of-art.com/members/cara.html
You can find fantastic things by other artists here as well.
